Everyone likes free stuff right? Well, now you can get a tone of free stuff courtesy of Adobe. For a limited time only, everything is free for the Aviary photo editor for Android and iOS. Photo Editor by Aviary (Android / iOS) is a great free photo editor for mobile devices and there is a huge range of extras available through in-app purchases. Until the end of November 2014 they are all free!

Aviary comes with a few features that enable you to enhance photos taken with your smartphone, but most of the cool stuff is in the Aviary Supply Shop.

There are frames like Pressed, Zigzag, Corners, Gold, Far East, Stitched, Handmade, Scrapbook and many more.  There are effects like Sepia Pro, Era Pro, Mood Pro, Wanderlust, Shadow Pro, Classic, Nostalgic and so on. Stickers include Whoosh, Cuties, Atomic, Nautical, Doodles, Animals, Football to mention just a few. There are overlays such as Grids, Countdown, Adore, and Gratitude.

Normally you have to pay for these, but they are currently free (tough luck if you are reading this in 2015).

It is tempting to download and install everything, after all, it is free. However, you have to wonder how the app would perform with every possible plug-in and effect installed, and how much storage space would be required. Some items took several minutes to download, indicating that they may be quite big. Making the app big and bloated might not be a good idea, so I just chose the extras I thought would be most useful.

So what is the catch. Well, there is the date and you have to grab the goodies before the end of November 2014. You also need an Adobe ID. If you do not have one, you can sign up for a free Adobe account in the app. It is free and a bit like a Google account, a Microsoft account and so on. It’s used with all Adobe products and services, so sign up if you don’t already have one.

While writing this I have been downloading a huge collection of extras for Aviary, so now I’m off to edit some photos and try them out.

Hi! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?
I'm getting fed up of Wordpress because I've had problems with hackers and I'm looking at alternatives for another platform.
I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

All content management systems need extra security modules. There's nothing wrong with WordPress, just Google 'WordPress security plugin' or something similar and you'll find lots to choose from that will keep hackers out.
